2 warning signs that a divorce may be in the cards

If you find your spouse in bed with your twin. Or, if a friend has spotted them entering a divorce attorney’s office, your marriage is likely about to end.

Yet often, there are clear signs that all is not well before things reach this stage. The problem is many people fail to spot them until it is too late, and the marriage is beyond salvation.

Spotting these signs early gives you two options. You can either take steps to repair your marriage or find out more about divorce.

Here are a few of the warning signs:

They cannot talk to you without making a snide remark

Your spouse’s witty responses to anyone that crossed them might have impressed you initially. Yet if every answer to you now comes with claws attached, you may feel less pleased. It’s a sign the love they had for you may have been replaced by disdain.

They are always busy

You know things are not as good as they once were, so you suggest a night out to try and rekindle some of the joy you used to share. Unfortunately, when you suggest it to your spouse, they list off a set of crucial appointments that make it clear they will not be free to go out with you for the next decade. When dinner with you becomes less important than clipping the dog’s claws and preparing sausage rolls for the office party, you know things are bad.

If divorce seems inevitable, the best thing you can do is prepare for it. Bear in mind that your spouse might have already been researching options for some time.
